We are committed to training students at all levels, from high school students who intern with us through post-doctoral students seeking to gain additional skills after receiving their doctoral degree. The department serves more undergraduate majors (roughly 1,300) than any other department in the university, as well as a strong cadre of graduate students (roughly 250) who participate in one of ou

r five specialty areas of study: applied developmental psychology, biological psychology, clinical psychology, human factors and applied cognition, industrial-organizational psychology, and school psychology. Students at all levels have the opportunity to work side by side with our faculty in their labs; some of these students go on to do their own independent research through our undergraduate honors program. https://www.facebook.com/groups/201847389884497/

✨ Celebrating Excellence in Psychology ✨

On May 8th, we gathered in the Johnson Center Bistro to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students during our 2026 Awards Ceremony. Throughout the evening, we recognized our Psychology Outstanding Seniors, Department Award recipients, and Psychology Honors students for their hard work, leadership, research, and dedication to the field of psychology. Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees — we are so proud of all you have accomplished! 👏🎓

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, and especially to the families and supporters who came to celebrate alongside our students. Your encouragement and support helped make the evening even more meaningful. 💛

We’d also like to thank Crafted 1972 and Chartwells for the wonderful food and refreshments, and extend our appreciation to our faculty presenters for helping make the ceremony such a memorable event:
Dr. Tim Curby, Dr. Justin Ramsdell, Dr. Jennifer Brielmaier, Dr. Alison Melley, Dr. Jerome Short, Dr. Erin Murdoch, Dr. Mike Hurley, and Dr. Yijue Liang.
