Check out Aubrey demonstrating dance elements for an assignment for this Summer's Dance Appreciation class.✨

Students did not need to be dancers to complete this assignment and were designed to be simple, non-dancer or dancer like, and displayed a demonstration of easy type movements that showed the dance elements such as 3 body actions, 1 pathway, 1 energy quality, 1 tempo and 1 space. Students could also choose a video.

In this video Aubrey explored the elements of dance and discovered how the body, space, time, and energy shape every performance.

Aubrey states: "This dance clip is from her solo from senior year, where it has an upbeat tempo and fast pace despite the fact that the music may seem slow, taking in account all the different rhythms in the music.

She loves utilizing her arms and facials in this dance as well, as it was very happy and uplifting, even therapeutic for her in a way, as she was at peace with this beautiful solo being one of her last performances.

So many pathways and traveling aspects were also used in this tap solo, always staying on beat and in character throughout. If you take the time to listen, there are many moments where she held space for the music to shine through, and in tap dance timing terms, she was “in the pocket!”💃🏼🎶

Aubrey demonstrates great work in bringing shine, timing, energy, and artistry to life!

Check out Paige demonstrating dance elements for an assignment for this Summer's Dance Appreciation class.

In this video Paige explored the elements of dance and discovered how the body, space, time, and energy shape every performance.

Paige states, “Watching her solo helped her to better understand all the elements discussed in Chapter 2 of the textbook. As a dancer, she states she naturally performs these movements sometimes without even thinking, but when choreographing, you have to recognize these movements.

This assignment allowed her to look at how her body actions, energy, tempo, pathways, and space work hand in hand to create a good performance. She also noticed how changes in energy and tempo helped match the mood of the music.”

Paige demonstrates great work in bringing creativity, energy, and artistry to life!

Cheers To the Concert 🎶🤩🌟🎵❤️

You see the dust flying all around,

All while all you can feel is the sound.

You see the moving rays of light,

As you dance with all of your might.

You feel every sensation,

All while you are overtaken by constant vibration.

You join in on the applause,

As your cheers resound, all with just cause.
