KVCC Kennebec Valley Community College

KVCC Kennebec Valley Community College KVCC’s Health Information Technology program combines the expanding arena of health care with the cutting edge of technology.

KVCC is one of seven community colleges in Maine, preparing full-time and part-time students to enter the job market, to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, and to achieve their professional and personal goals. Named one of the best two-year colleges in America by The Aspen Institute in for a third consecutive time in 2014, Kennebec Valley Community College is one of the most highly r

egarded institutions of its kind in the Northeast. Among our more than 35 degree and certificate, offerings are challenging programs in Nursing and Allied Health, including Respiratory Therapy and the state’s only Sonography, Computed Tomography, Mammography, Physical Therapist Assistant, and Occupational Therapy Assistant programs. The college also offers New England’s only program in Electrical Lineworker Technology, supporting the power and communications industries. And it’s Trades and Technology Department is expanding its offerings in renewable energy technologies, including a new Energy Services Technology Associate Degree program in 2012. KVCC has now added exciting new programs in Sustainable Agriculture and Culinary Arts and will expand into other farm-to-table programs in coming years. The college’s 69-acre Fairfield campus is located three miles north of Waterville, just off I-95. It includes five classroom buildings, a library, multi-purpose room/gymnasium, café, and computer labs. A commuter college, KVCC offers students assistance with car pooling and child care options. The College has also acquired 600 acres of land and more than a dozen facilities from the Good Will-Hinckley School for Boys and Girls in Hinckley in 2012. Renamed the Harold Alfond Campus, this new campus is providing new space and opportunities for KVCC and will officially open in the fall of 2014. Approximately 2,300 full and part-time students attended KVCC in the fall of 2013. The College offers many evening, weekend, and online courses to accommodate students with busy schedules. The Mickey Marden Center for Student Success provides academic and personal support, and the Advising and Career Center offers academic, transfer, and career counseling. Typically, more than 95 percent of KVCC graduates are employed or enrolled in further study within six months of graduation.
