Coastal Alabama Community College Simulation Program Seeking to prepare all learners to be competent in providing safe patient care in the community.

Fully accredited since 2023 in teaching and education through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. The Coastal Alabama Community College Simulation Program offers simulation learning opportunities for nursing and allied health students in two locations - Atmore and Fairhope. In addition, we work closely with stakeholders within our various communities to provide robust simulation experiences

for them. Our Program is also proud to be the first Simulation Program in the Alabama Community College System to achieve Full Accreditation in Teaching and Education through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

Today marks the first day of simulation clinical experiences for the fall semester!🩺🍂🎉

We kicked things off in Fairhope with our fourth-semester nursing students, who dove right into critical care simulations. These hands-on experiences challenge students to think critically, work as a team, and build confidence as they prepare for the realities of patient care.

It’s going to be a great semester! We’re excited to see our students learn, grow, and shine through simulation!

👶🩷 OB Boot Camp in Bay Minette!💙👶

Yesterday, faculty from NUR 114 and NUR 209 hosted an OB Boot Camp on the Bay Minette campus for their students! From hands-on practice to building confidence in caring for moms and babies, students had a great opportunity to learn, practice, and prepare for real-world patient care.

Another great day of learning through simulation! 🩺✨

We have just wrapped up two weeks of boot camp simulation learning, which included an occasional bit of bad weather. So, here is a little post-boot camp survival pic from week one.

Critical Care Boot Camp: Complete.✔️
Thunderstorm Mode: Activated. ⛈️
Umbrella: Clearly not a critical care skill. ☔️

💙 A RESOURCE WORTH KNOWING ABOUT!💙

We are excited to share about an incredible nonprofit organization working to bridge the gap between people who need medical supplies and the supplies they can actually access.

Asher’s Medical Supply Closet takes unused and unexpired medical supplies and redistributes them FREE to individuals who need them. They’re located in Mobile, but they also ship supplies, making this an incredible resource for our students, graduates, healthcare professionals, patients, and communities across the region.

Their mission is simple but so important - help people get what they need when insurance and other resources fall short.🩺❤️

They also have plans to launch a grant funding program in 2027 to help provide financial assistance for supplies or copays when the needed items aren't available.

👉 **Healthcare students:** Keep this organization in mind when you head out to clinicals and into your careers. You may encounter a patient who needs a resource exactly like this.

👉 **Healthcare professionals:** Know someone who is struggling to access needed medical supplies? This could be a valuable resource to share.

Sometimes making a difference starts with simply knowing where to point someone for help.

📍 Based in Mobile, AL
📦 Supplies can be shipped
