Pediatrics is fun. Our students experience working with local scouts as part of their pediatric experience every summer. This unique opportunity really helps them utilize therapeutic communication and play as medicine. Who said clinicals should be boring?

Summer will be over before you know it and these students will be ready for their nclex and to impact the lives of patients in North Central West Virginia and beyond. We are so excited to see where they go. Wonder what next week will bring? 🤔

Whew! Our 2026 Cohort has been busy, busy, busy! Week 1 of the summer semester was full of orientations for Mental Health clinical rotations and a full tour about the history of the treatment of psychiatric conditions in West Virginia at the Transallegney Lunatic Assylum

Next week? OB simulations. Hold on tight, 2026 students, these weeks are going to fly by!

Well that's a wrap on the class of 2026 graduation! Even though our LPN program runs a nontraditional year from August to August, our students are able to participate in all student activities. We celebrated with a little bit of silliness but a whole lot of Pierpont Pride. Congratulations to all of the college's upcoming graduates. It was an honor to celebrate YOU. The future is bright and you are leading the call.

It's nurse's week!

Dr. Megan Miller, our LPN/Medic Bridge to RN Director and our LPN Clinical Coordinator hosted some future medical professionals today. These local high school students are going to be great medical professionals. They worked through simulation scenarios and they got to meet our high fidelity simulation mannequins. What a great Wednesday morning!

Speaking of continuing education, LPN Program Director, Terri Armentrout and our new LPN/medic Bridge to RN director, Dr. Megan Miller, recently met Dr. Patricia Benner. Dr. Benner is literally Nursing Royalty in education! What an honor!
