Since 1891, Landscape Architects and Horticulturists have influenced the living laboratory of NDSU's campus. Today, Dr. Todd West led the ribbon-cutting for the NDSU Interactive Campus Arboretum, with significant help from Rebecca Heide, MLA 25, and many other campus supporters. It was fitting that NDSU President Stewart spoke about the significance of the campus landscape as an educational space. Stewart follows in the footsteps of NDSU's 1st President Stockbridge, who, in 1891, said of campus landscape architect A.W. Spaulding, "The entire domain surveyed by an expert landscape architect; and the laying out of the grounds in accordance with these plans, their ornamentation with drives, walks, trees, shrubs, garden, and expanse of water is already underway." That spirit is still present in the campus, and now enhanced with the Interactive Campus Arboretum. Open to anyone who visits! Just scan the QR code!
