🩺 NDSU Nursing Student Highlight: Sophia Tucker 🩺

πŸŽ“ Program: Accelerated BSN
πŸ“… Expected Graduation: December 2027
πŸ“ Hometown: Fargo, ND

🩺 Area of Nursing: Neuro or Labor & Delivery
β€œI am really interested in neuro because many of my family members and friends have neurological conditions, which makes it an area I am passionate about. I may also want to pursue Labor & Delivery because I love babies and think the whole process of delivery is such a wonderful and miraculous thing to be a part of!”

πŸ’š Why NDSU Nursing:
β€œI chose NDSU Nursing because of the brand-new Accelerated Nursing Program. I started out as a pre-pharmacy student but decided to switch to nursing. I had enough credits for a bachelor's degree between the credits I earned in high school and the two years I had already completed at NDSU, and I was concerned that switching my major would push me back an additional two years. With NDSU's new accelerated program, I am able to stay on track with my schooling! I had also heard amazing things about the NDSU Nursing faculty and staff, and from what I have seen so far, I can definitely say that is the case. They are so welcoming and truly want to help you succeed!”

🌴 Fun Fact: Sophia moved to Fargo, ND, from Palm Springs, CA, during her sophomore year of high school!

✨ Clubs & Organizations: Sophia is involved in Nurses' Christian Fellowship (NCF), NDSU's Student Nurses Association (SNA) and Chi Alpha.

β˜• Outside of School: Sophia enjoys traveling, getting coffee with friends, playing piano, spending time outside and shopping!

We are so excited to see what Sophia accomplishes in her Nursing journey! πŸŽ‰

The School of Nursing at North Dakota State University invites applicants for an Assistant/Associate Professor. We seek collaborative individuals engaged in nursing and health services research, with preference for candidates who possess or demonstrate the potential to develop a funded research portfolio that complements current faculty scholarship. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, healthcare informatics, implementation science, quality and process improvement, population health, rural health, health equity, chronic disease management, health systems innovation, care delivery models, and outcomes research.

The successful candidate will hold a DNP or PhD in Nursing or a closely related field and be prepared to contribute to the teaching, research, and service missions of the School of Nursing. Clinical practice as a nurse practitioner is encouraged but not required. The major foci of this position will be to establish and maintain an active, independent program of research and scholarship while teaching doctoral DNP students. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest and track record in securing extramural funding, leading interdisciplinary research initiatives, and advancing evidence-based improvements in healthcare delivery and outcomes.
