🚨 LIRR Strike Update 🚨

The LIRR strike is now in effect and may impact travel to campus as we head into finals week.

If you normally take the train, please plan ahead and explore alternate transportation options. Suffolk County Transit and NICE buses service campus, and carpooling is encouraged. 🚍🚗

📝 Have a final exam and can’t get to campus? Be sure to contact your professor to discuss alternate arrangements.

🚗 Parking update: Parking ticketing will be suspended while the strike is in effect.

🚌 Shuttle update: Service between the Farmingdale LIRR station and campus is temporarily suspended, but Aviation Center shuttles will continue to run on a normal schedule.

🚆 Potential LIRR Work Stoppage.

A potential LIRR strike beginning Saturday, May 16 may impact travel to campus. Students, faculty, and staff who rely on the LIRR should consider alternate transportation, including Suffolk County Transit and NICE bus service, both of which stop on campus.

FSC is excited to present alumnus Murray Pasternack ’60 with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at the 105th Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 22, 2026—where he’ll also take the stage as keynote speaker. 🎓

Together with his wife, Judy, Murray is the largest individual donor in FSC history. After building a global RF/microwave enterprise, he now gives back in a big way—their latest gift will fuel scholarships and expand STEM opportunities for future generations.
