Exciting news!

We are thrilled to announce that Brianna Sklute Gatch will join our full-time music faculty this fall as Assistant Director of Bands/Lecturer of Music. Known for building strong programs and creating high-energy performance experiences, she brings exciting momentum to Longwood’s Music Department.

In this new position she will teach the University Band, Stampede Athletic Band, and other courses in the Music Department. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from VCU and a Master’s in Wind Band Pedagogy from the University of Louisville.

Ms. Gatch is currently finishing her ninth year at Clover Hill High School, where both her concert and athletic ensembles have consistently earned Superior ratings at VBODA assessments. She also currently serves as director of the University of Richmond Wind Ensemble. She is an active clinician, guest conductor, and adjudicator across Virginia.

We can’t wait to welcome her to campus this fall!
