Big thanks to everyone that was able to help with our Prescribed Burn on Saturday! We successfully burned about 85% of the 13 acres that were replanted in the native pollinator plant mix. Watch for a big bloom later in the season!

We had a nice turnout for the annual Earth Day Canoe Race on Thursday. Congratulations to the top finishers in each category: All male: Dawson Wiswall and Logan Wiswall; All Female: Emma Deana and Diana Granados; Mixed: Lillian Miller and Alex Pendel. In late summer we began prepping for a native vegetation restoration by spraying herbicide on 13 acres of cool season grasses. Yesterday we burned the dead grass off to open up bare ground for broadcasting the seed this winter. We developed a burn plan with our local MDC Private Lands Conservationist, Ryan Luekenhoff. Environmental Science Club students gained some great experience in prescribed burning and were invaluable in making this happen! Big thanks to Ryan and our CMU students, Amanda, Hunter, and Julianna!

Like teddy bears with wings! This Common Eastern Bumblebee was spotted in the new pollinator garden (in front of TBerry) that thr Environmental Science Club helped establish last spring. There are still flowers, check it out if you haven't yet this fall.
