How do curiosity, service, and a persistent sense of God shape a calling?
For Chad, the journey to chaplaincy wasn't plannedβit was formed over time. While he developed strong theological understanding, he discovered something deeper was missing: the ability to sit gently with brokenness.
Through mentorship at CCBS and Clinical Pastoral Education with Christian Chaplains and Coaching (CCC), a new vision emerged.
"I didn't know I wanted to be a chaplain," he shares. "I just wanted the training."
Instead of pulpits and platforms, ministry began showing up in hospital rooms, nursing homes, and hospice spaces, where presence matters more than answers. Through four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and intensive internships, Chad is learning to walk with people through grief, loss, and uncertainty.
And in the process, his heart and his understanding of ministry continues to be transformed. Click the link to read more.
