The department would like to take a moment to acknowledge and welcome our newest faculty members:

Julianne Liebenguth, Ph.D., International Security
Owen Brown, Ph.D., International Organizations and Norms
Joshua Thorp, Ph.D., Public Opinion

Though their numbers are too great to mention in a social media post, we'd also like to welcome our newest Fall 2025 instructors, adjuncts, and graduate students who help keep the foundations of the department strong.

If you're in one of their classes this semester, be sure to give them a warm welcome to our campus community!

If you like what she has to say about Quantitative Methods, we could recommend a class or two in our MPA program 😉

During a Sept. 2 appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' Jessica Chastain opened up about attending Harvard University to attain a Master's degree. The Oscar winner said that her program — public administration — was 'the sexiest degree ever' and that she had big plans upon gradu...

Last Spring, Professors Karen Sebold and Dara Gaines won PLSC departmental teaching awards. Here they are, pictured with Department Chair William Schreckhise receiving their plaques.

Recipients of PLSC's teaching awards are nominated by our students and selected by a committee of professors who read all of their feedback. These outstanding educators are therefore recognized by both their peers and their students as shining examples of what makes an excellent teacher.

Congratulations, professors, and thank you for all that you do for our students and our campus community!
