It is with a heavy heart we share that the founder of the Methodist Univeristy PA program, Mr. Ron Foster, PA-C, passed away this past Tuesday. Mr. Foster, was a true visionary and with the support from former MU president, Dr. Elton Hendricks, founded the PA program at MU in 1993 and served as program director until 2009. Mr. Foster had a passion for recruiting and retaining PA’s to serve our community in southeastern N.C. He created the mission that makes our program what it is today. Although we are saddened at his passing, we are grateful for his support of the students/alumni since the program’s inception. Below is information regarding visitation and funeral arrangements. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12th from 6pm-8pm at Roger and Breese Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13th at 1:30 pm at St. Michael the Archangel Maronite Catholic Church, Fayetteville.

Congratulations to our student Leanna Jacobs on being the first ever recipient of the Kameron “Kam” Dobie Friendship House Grant. We are thankful to the grant donor, and send out love to the Dobie’s and the Greenwood’s. We are forever grateful for Kam and the lessons she taught us!

The Play4Kay 5K Run/Walk is back in person for 2022! Come run or walk 3.1 miles with us on Saturday, February 12th at 9:00 am on the campus of MU to help raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and for Cape Fear Valley’s Friends of the Cancer Center. Details for the run are as follows:

Location: Methodist Football Stadium
Time: Race begins at 9:00 am
Prizes will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers
Advanced registration cost: MU Fac/Staff/Students: $20 NON-MU: $25 T-shirt and finishing medal included
