As AI continues to transform the business world, Walton College is preparing students to lead in an increasingly technology-driven future by investing in the faculty who shape their learning experiences.

The Walton AI Faculty Challenge Workshop, designed by the Walton AI Task Force, gave faculty the opportunity to explore practical and innovative ways to integrate AI into learning and teaching. Through this two-day workshop, faculty collaborated on new ideas that enhance classroom experiences, foster innovation, boost productivity, and help students develop career-ready skills.

To bring these ideas to life, the Dean’s Office funded three faculty proposals for Fall 2026 course development. By empowering faculty to thoughtfully incorporate AI into the classroom, Walton College continues to create future-focused learning opportunities that prepare students to thrive in the evolving world of business. 🚀

Is quiet quitting really about disengagement or is it a response to how work has changed?

Meet Ayden Owens, a Walton College of Business alumni who graduated in 2023 with a Master of Business Administration, along with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. 💼 What advice would you give to current Walton students?
Be intentional about forming real relationships with your classmates. I am still in contact with classmates of mine who have become invaluable in my professional journey, as many of them are serving in impactful roles at great companies. Also, invest time in getting to know your professors. I’ve maintained relationships with a few who served as my mentors during my MBA and made my experience at Walton all the better. Professors are often underutilized resources for many students post-graduation, who must never forget a core feature of business school and business in general: it's not always what you know, but who you know.

📌 In what ways has your experience at Walton College influenced your career path and the life you’re building today?
I always had an entrepreneurial mindset, from mowing neighbors’ lawns and shoveling snow as a kid to launching a clothing brand, but Walton College transformed that passion into a viable, sustainable career path. I had the mindset, but not the framework or tools, and Walton gave me both. It equipped me with a diverse skill set, an important professional network, and a problem-solving approach needed to build something meaningful in the world. That foundation continues to shape the career and life I’m building today.

Why do some promotions feel like a better deal even when the math is identical?

New research from Daniel Villanova at Walton College shows the way prices are framed changes how consumers respond. Shoppers become more price sensitive when retailers emphasize the cost per unit instead of the amount received per dollar.

A valuable insight for marketers, retailers, and pricing teams trying to influence purchase behavior.

Who should control your IT systems?

New research from Walton College’s Mary Lacity suggests the answer is not fixed. The most effective organizations shift between centralized and decentralized control depending on the situation.

Centralization drives efficiency and consistency. Decentralization enables flexibility and innovation. The advantage comes from knowing what to control and what to distribute.

A practical read for CIOs designing modern tech governance.
