National Technical Honor Society is having a drive to assist a local school in need.

Alger B. Wilkins High School
1606 Ireland Drive
Fayetteville, NC 28304
910-864-5438
Deliver to the social worker between 10-3 pm if possible. She heads up the pantry.

The pantry shelves are empty. I called and verified they accept used clothing-small to 2x-these are high schoolers, so need youthful clean, gently used clothing. They really need hygiene products too.

This pantry serves students with very real needs. Some depend on this pantry for food, hygiene products, clothing, and other basic necessities.
So today, I’m calling on THE VILLAGE. ❤️
We need EVERYTHING!
🥫 Non-perishable foods
🥩 Frozen foods
🧴 Toiletries & personal hygiene products
🩷 Feminine hygiene products
👶Diapers & Wipes
🧦 Socks & undergarments
🧥 Fall clothing, jackets & hoodies
🍎 Snacks and easy-to-prepare foods
🧼 Household/basic care items
…and honestly, ANYTHING that can help us fill these shelves!

If you, your church, organization, business, sorority/fraternity, civic group, or family would like to donate, please inbox me or go directly to the school.

No donation is too small. A bag, a box, a case—it ALL Matters

Interested in helping prepare the next generation of North Carolina business leaders?

Brittany Milligan, Marketing Instructor at FTCC is seeking volunteer guest speakers to share their knowledge, experiences and expertise with high school and collegiate students across the state who are members of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Speaking opportunities are available throughout the year:
* Fayetteville, NC: Year-round
* Raleigh, NC: November
* Charlotte, NC: Early April
* Virtual: Year-round

Topics can vary based on your area of expertise, with an emphasis on the NACE Career Readiness Competencies, including career & self-development, communication, critical thinking, leadership, professionalism, teamwork and technology.

You don’t have to be a professional speaker. I’m looking for professionals willing to share what they’ve learned, offer real-world insight and help prepare students for their future careers.
Are you someone—or do you know someone—who would be a great fit? I’d love to hear from you. Send me a message or tag someone you think might be interested. You can email her directly at [email protected].

All speaking opportunities are volunteer-based.

Building on a year of achievement, FTCC’s FBLA Collegiate chapter represented the college at the National Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, showcasing the chapter’s success on the national stage.

Suzanna McGhee (student) named a FBLA Collegiate Excellence Award Silver Winner

P. Simone Browne (student) advanced as a Management Case Competition Finalist

Brittany Milligan (faculty) was elected Leadership & Program Development Director for NC FBLA Collegiate Executive Board for the 2026–2028 term

Beyond competition, students participated in more than 40 combined hours of professional development activities, including workshops, leadership sessions, and career-focused programming. They also connected with employers, industry professionals, and FBLA members from across the country, expanding their professional networks and gaining valuable career insights. Upon completion of post-conference assessments later in June, all participating students will earn the FBLA Professional Foundations Program Certificate.

The chapter also received national recognition as a North Carolina Gold Seal Chapter, highlighting its sustained excellence in programming, leadership development, and member engagement.

Congrats to one of our dedicated students and National Technical Honor Society members Meaghan Fournier!

"Paratrooper to future Princetonian

From almost no formal schooling and having to drop out of high school so I could work, to having the privilege of panicking over which dream school to attend.

First generation college student, immigrant, low-income background, GED kid. There was absolutely nothing in my background that would ever hint that this could be a possibility for me.

This has been a long time in the making. Two years ago I decided that the first step towards a shot at some of the best humanities programs in the country was proving myself at my local community college. Today I graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College with a perfect 4.0. The decision to go back to school as an adult was terrifying. The first time I ever attempted college I had no formal schooling behind me and I was not ready, and the grades reflected that. Coming back almost 15 years later with some life behind me, turned out to be a completely different thing.

Today was also a second huge life event — I have committed to Princeton University as a member of this year’s veterans and transfer cohort. I received offers from several Ivy League institutions and some of the best research universities in the country so this choice was one of the hardest I’ve ever made.

I chose Princeton because of their unwavering support for veterans as well as their commitment to research and the thesis requirement. They also uphold high academic standards and rigor in today’s ever changing educational landscape. As someone who is chasing education for knowledge itself and not just credentialing, this was very important to me. There is a reputation of difficulty and anyone who knows me knows that I chase a challenge. (Also the history. They are older than the actual country and the whole place looks like Hogwarts hello!?.)

I owe a debt of gratitude to the Warrior-Scholar Project for helping me realize my place in a liberal arts environment and for believing in me before I fully believed in myself. Service to School provided the support I needed to apply to these schools and a mentor who guided me through the application process. A heartfelt thank you to every professor at Fayetteville Technical Community College who wrote countless letters of recommendation and stepped in as my advisors when I didn’t have one.

Finally, thank you to the team at Princeton for answering my frankly absurd amount of questions and making me feel genuinely welcome during my visit. You made this decision a little easier.

This is proof that it’s never too late and there is an important space in higher education for people with non-traditional paths.

Looks like I’ll be embracing the color orange. 🥳hashtag " by Meaghan Fournier
