Meet Jin Nathan Swun, a student in the Class of 2030 at the Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine.

A passion for research is already shaping his experience in medicine. Swun is a co-author of a case report published in JAAD Case Reports, exploring perioperative local anesthetic and antibiotic considerations for a patient with myasthenia gravis.

From research to the classroom, Swun is building the knowledge and skills that will shape his future as a physician.

We were honored to welcome the Golden LEAF Foundation to the Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine as they gathered on campus for their board meeting.

Dr. Hershey Bell, welcomed Golden LEAF leadership and board members and shared more about the vision and work underway at the SOM.

Our SOM students recently put their learning into action by supporting fall prevention education in the community, gaining hands-on experience while helping others understand simple ways to reduce fall risks.

It’s another example of how our students learn beyond the classroom and connect what they’re learning to the health needs of the communities they serve.
