How can emerging technologies improve the reliability and sustainability of modern power systems?

Join us for the upcoming ARA Project Scope presentation with Dr. Yue Zhao on August 26 at 11:00 AM.

Dr. Zhao will discuss his team's work developing a silicon carbide-based solid-state circuit breaker capable of detecting and interrupting electrical faults more than 100 times faster than conventional solutions. This research has the potential to improve grid resilience, reduce maintenance demands, and support the growing integration of renewable energy resources.

Building a stronger workforce takes collaboration. ⚡

Shawn Bell, Workforce Development Director, recently participated in a panel at “Workforce Strategies for a Thriving Region,” hosted by NorthWest Arkansas Community College.

During the discussion, he shared how the Multi-User Silicon Carbide Research and Fabrication Laboratory (MUSiC) is creating new opportunities in semiconductor research, and how our workforce courses are helping prepare individuals for careers in growing technical fields.

The session also opened the door for great questions from the audience, highlighting the strong interest in accessible pathways into tech careers. 💡
