Representatives from the VA Medical Center, FirstHealth, and Southern Regional AHEC attended and engaged in meaningful discussions about nursing education topics impacting our community. Their insights and collaboration continue to strengthen partnerships that support the future of nursing and healthcare in our region.

Skills check! ✅ Our Junior Nursing students were busy in the lab this week mastering wound care and NG tube procedures. The future of nursing is looking bright! 🌟

🩺 There’s never a dull moment in the MU SON labs! 🦁 Last week, juniors learned how to take a health history and practiced donning PPE. Today, seniors had a blast in musculoskeletal lab. We love seeing our students build confidence and clinical skills through hands-on learning!💚💛

Our Junior nursing students had a great time in Fundamentals Lab this week! 🩺💚💛

They jumped right into hands-on learning with restraint safety, proper handwashing techniques, and - of course - an unforgettable nursing milestone: their first encounter with the infamous “poop smell” spray! 💩😂

What a great first week of learning, practicing, and building those essential nursing skills. We can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes! 💚💛
