The Boone Honors Program at Ferrum College celebrated its seniors during the annual banquet on April 26 in the Blue Ridge Mountain Room. Students, faculty, staff, and families gathered to recognize this year’s graduates' accomplishments and the program's lasting impact.

Professor of English Lana Whited shared encouraging words with students, reminding them that their superpower is “to shine light into dark places.” The evening also included a special surprise as Dr. Whited was honored with a rocking chair in recognition of her dedication and leadership of the Boone Honors Program from 2007 to 2025.

Ferrum College Director of Athletics Cleive Adams has announced the hiring of James Johnson ’93 as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the Panthers.
