“My two week study abroad in South Africa in the Summer of 2025 with Dr. KC was an amazing experience that I recommend to any students that are interested! During our time we spent one week in Johannesburg and the other in Cape Town. Our experienced was filled with guided tours both in the van and in every museum we visited. It was transformed through the scenic routes and picturesque spots that were integrated in our travels. We studied the Apartheid government, the genocide that occurred in Rwanda, and the Holocaust, where I was able to expand my knowledge on these topics and learn more about different government structures that had detrimental impacts on their people. It provided me with more insight into how history and culture influences power structures.”

“Six months abroad taught me that studying abroad is so much more than seeing new places. It was learning how to build a life somewhere completely unfamiliar, navigating moments of homesickness and uncertainty, and becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Living in Denmark gave me the opportunity to experience a different culture, meet people from all over the world, travel to places I had only dreamed about, and learn more about myself along the way. There were definitely hard days, but those moments became some of the most meaningful parts of the experience because they pushed me to become more independent, adaptable, and open-minded.

From everyday life in Roskilde to weekend trips across Europe, I’m incredibly grateful for the people, places, challenges, and little moments that made these six months so special. I left Denmark with more than just photos and memories, I left with a different perspective on the world and on myself. 🇩🇰”

Four months, ten countries, countless memories! My name is Logan and I studied in Athens, Greece at the American College of Greece for a semester. The campus and country were absolutely beautiful and Greece made a wonderful home away from home. ACG was super accessible and welcoming to international students and being in Greece made it so easy to travel around other countries. Some of my favorite places outside of Greece were Barcelona, Cairo, and Munich!

Get started on your abroad journey today! The deadline to apply to the American College of Greece Spring 2027 program is October 15!

“My journey before, during, and after my time in Copenhagen was an amazing learning experience. Before I left, I thought a lot about different aspects of what would become my study abroad experience. It is important to almost overthink your trip. What I mean by that is, make sure you are prepared in every aspect; whether that is housing, finances, or different restaurants you want to try! Studying abroad should never feel like a chore; it should always be about ensuring how to make your time abroad worthwhile. One item that slipped my mind before I went across the world was how I would be paying throughout my trip. I didn’t know that Discover doesn’t work in Europe before I was face-to-face with the waitress at a sushi restaurant. Long story short, double-check with your banks that your cards will work during your program! Other than that minor setback, my time during my program was almost magical. Getting to explore the art, culture, language, and lifestyle of another country is a privilege I will never take for granted. But the one thing that made it most memorable would have to be the friends I made during my time. One of my biggest stressors before departure was whether I would get along with the students I would be doing the program with. That worry quickly faded as different aspects like proximity and constant activity made making friends much easier. I met some people who have become very special in my life who I still see and talk to everyday. Since my program has ended, I have noticed that my experiences abroad lead me to grow as a person. Being on your own in a foreign country forces you to adapt and helps you grow into a more self-assured and independent person. If you haven’t already, I highly suggest you study abroad during your time at NAU!”
