FMU Visual Arts

FMU Visual Arts The collective mind of FMU Visual Arts. The NASAD accredited Visual Arts program at Francis Marion University offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Art.

We focus on developing the artistic abilities of students within the liberal arts tradition. Students majoring in Visual Arts select an area of specialization within the studio arts of ceramics, painting, photography or graphic design. We prepare our students for graduate school or independent work in the arts. This is accomplished through their coursework in the studio areas, supplemented by art

history and related fields of study. SCHOLARSHIP
In addition to any other grants and scholarships received, the Department of Fine Arts is able to assist meritorious students with scholarships specific to visual art. For additional information, please visit departments.fmarion.edu/finearts/schol01.htm

EXPERIENCE
There is no substitute for actually standing in the presence of historically significant art and architecture and our faculty lead student art and art history tours all over the world.

Reverie from Charity Jules was birthed from a ritual of walking the beach near her home. With each visit to this liminal space she collected gifts. Captures of the shifting moods of the sea and pieces of itself the water left behind. In Reverie these pieces are offered up for your experience arranged in platters, caught in nets of string, and in vessels overflowing with abundance. In a sense you walk a space kin to where Charity walked. Between the awe inspiring ocean and the bounty she left behind
