FMU School of Education The School of Education at Francis Marion University Welcome to Francis Marion University's School of Education. All programs are accredited by CAEP.

We are pleased to introduce you to an array of excellent and exciting educational programs. Francis Marion University, located in Florence, South Carolina--60 miles from Myrtle Beach, is a safe campus where the classes are small and teaching is student centered. The School of Education has a superb faculty, most with their terminal degrees from some of the most prestigious graduate institutions in

the nation. Our support staff is always eager to be of assistance in seeking answers to any questions our students might have about their educational programs, campus regulations, and FMU life in general. Our graduates are accepted into graduate and professional schools, have ready access to teaching positions in area public and independent schools, and are highly recommended by their employers. We hope you are impressed with what you see and will tell others and share our address with them.

We are back in full swing! In our first three days of the semester our preservice teachers have:
1. "Shopped" at the free Teachers' Clothes Closet sponsored by The Center of Excellence for Teaching Children of Poverty and The Palmetto State Teachers Association
2. Presented their shopping finds in a "professional attire fashion show"
3. Attended the SOE kick-off where they met faculty, enjoyed refreshments, and had a visit from Florence One School District representatives
3. And, of course, started classes!

The week isn't over yet! Tomorrow is the annual "First Friday" event! See you there!

At today's University Faculty Breakfast Dr. Lisa Midcalf and Dr. James Ritter were awarded their 10 year pins. Dr. Daljit Kaur was awarded her 20 year pin!
