Through a new $1.7M NSF grant, Pacific University will support 12 science majors with a fully funded Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program (up to $65,000), plus a 4-year early career induction program paying a salary bonus of $15,000/year!

The next MAT start date is late June, 2026. Applications are accepted through Feb 1, 2026.
Program Requirements
Must be a science major (B.S. or higher in physics, chemistry, biology, earth/space sciences and other closely related fields)) graduating by June, 2026 or June, 2027. Career changers are eligible to apply.
Must be committed to being a science teacher in an Oregon school during the 4-year induction period following the completion of the M.A.T program.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
