FIFTEEN… 15 Rams coming together — learning, living, and loving Herefords. Coming from literally coast to coast (and beyond) from California to Florida with our very own international guest from New Zealand. These beef cattle loving young people are glad to be on campus and back on the barn!

Denver cattle are in the barn. We have our first roadtrip this week. The team is the largest it’s been since 2002. We are grateful for it all and have a lot to celebrate! 💚🧡

Your support can help the team celebrate the 50th year of Seedstock Merchandising at CSU through
🍽️— $30 — help cover a student’s meal
🚐— $75 — help fill the van with gas
🏨— $100 — help with a student’s hotel stay
🧥 🧢 — $200 — help outfit a student in gear

Students who are part of Seedstock Merchandising at Colorado State University leave as leaders with experience in data driven decision making, solutions, communication, organization, and teamwork and that’s before we get to animal husbandry, beef cattle genetics and repro, and seedstock marketing and promotions. Our students gain these skills and more through EXHIBITING CATTLE AT NATIONAL WESTERN, through attending SALES AND INDUSTRY EVENTS AND TRADE SHOWS, through VISITING RANCHES AND OPERATIONS, and ENGAGING with the university’s beef herds through decision making and marketing.

Our students are fortunate to do many things as they build their portfolios and contribute to the on-campus beef herd. Your support helps these students build networks, develop transferable skills, learn livestock management and merchandising, and turn passion into future opportunities.

You know what time it is! Students spent the day turning the barn into a home away from home. They’ll spend hours with the Herefords here — studying for exams and quizzes, studying pedigrees and data, working hair and tending cattle, and coming together as a Ramily.

No better place to learn than in a barn. Especially in this 50th year of a CSU bull sale, the 25th year of the Bob Taylor Auditorium, and the 25th CSU will show in The Yards.

We had a great time catching up with old friends and making new ones at this year’s Fall Gather honoring Dr. Matsushima. Our fall is only ramping up and Ag Week at CSU was the perfect week to get excited about all there is to come!

It was barn clean up day today! We’re shined up and have everything in order to get Denver cattle in soon!

Thanks to Karl & CSU-ARDEC for the sweet corn. We couldn’t wait to get home, so we had a little snack 🌽

Tomorrow kicks off a new semester for a new team. Tomorrow kicks off 5-0 years of purebred cattle marketing at Colorado State University and 2-5 years of showing cattle National Western Stock Show. Years and generations of learning by doing, of building leaders, and of carrying legacy - and we are grateful for every one!

This team is more about showing and selling. It’s about relationships. 🤝

One of the 2025-26’s team core experiences was visiting with fellow breeders in Denver, showing cattle ahead of the sale, and loading purchased cattle for their new homes. Learning from others in our industry and learning by doing — rarely in a traditional classroom, and we like that way!

Time spent pouring over cow data. Months researching A.I. sires. Boots in the pen identifying turn out bulls. Early mornings and evenings heat checking and breeding. Working beyond the team. Chasing goals. Building relationships. Carrying legacy. And these views… 💚🧡 🐏
