Instructor Spotlight: Dr. David Caputo
Dr. David Caputo is a nationally recognized expert on American elections with more than 25 years of teaching experience. He earned his BA from Miami University and his PhD in political science from Yale University, and has taught at Purdue University, Hunter College, Pace University—where he is President Emeritus—and Colorado State University. In addition to his academic career, he has held senior leadership roles in higher education and is a frequent, nonpartisan media commentator on presidential and congressional elections.
At OLLI, Dr. Caputo has taught courses on presidential and midterm elections, campaign dynamics, nomination processes, Congress, public policy, political forecasting, and emerging topics such as AI in politics. His courses, often offered around election cycles, give members timely insights into current political developments and their broader implications.
Dr. Caputo’s combination of scholarship, leadership, and real-world media experience provides OLLI members with a deeper understanding of how elections work and why they matter. His courses equip participants to better interpret events, evaluate predictions, and engage in informed discussion. We are grateful to Dr. Caputo for sharing his expertise, insight, and dedication to lifelong learning with the OLLI community.

✨ Celebrating the Power of Poetry at Our OLLI Spring Reading ✨
“If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain.” — Emily Dickinson
Poetry has a unique power to move us, connect us, and give voice to our deepest thoughts and emotions. At our OLLI Spring Poetry Reading, that power was on full display. Each reading reflected the beauty, honesty, and insight that lifelong learning makes possible.
Our members shared words that were thoughtful, courageous, and deeply meaningful—reminding us that poetry, like learning, evolves with us and helps us better understand the world and each other.
Thank you to all who read, listened, and supported this special event. Together, we created a space where ideas, emotions, and creativity could truly shine. 💛

🎨 Celebrating Lifelong Learning at the OLLI Spring Art Show 🌸
Lifelong learning truly comes to life in many colors, textures, and creative mediums—and our OLLI Spring Art Show is a beautiful reflection of that spirit. From bold brushstrokes to delicate details, each piece showcases not only artistic talent, but also curiosity, growth, and a passion for learning at every stage of life.
We are so proud of our incredibly talented members whose creativity and dedication made this show such a success. Your work inspires us and reminds us that learning never stands still—it evolves, expands, and finds new forms of expression.
Thank you as well to everyone who came out to support the exhibit. Your presence helped make the event a vibrant and welcoming celebration of our community.
Here’s to continuing to learn, create, and inspire—together! 💛

🎶 “It’s so hard… to say goodbye…” — or at least, that’s what the song tells us.
But before we get too caught up in the bittersweet notes of farewell, let’s pause and celebrate the real story of this Spring term: the laughter, the curiosity, the connections, and all the moments of discovery that made it something truly magical. 🌸✨
From lively discussions to new friendships, this season has given us so much more than an ending — it’s given us something to carry forward.
And here’s the good news: before we get too dramatic about good-byes, remember… June classes begin in just two weeks! So maybe this isn’t a farewell after all — just a brief intermission. 😉
Here’s to Spring, to the joy of learning together, and to what comes next! 🌿📚
