Arts Management at CSU

Arts Management at CSU This is the official page for the Arts Management program at Colorado State University and nationwide.

The LEAP Institute for the Arts is based on four guiding principles: leadership, entrepreneurship, arts advocacy, and the public. We recognize that success in the arts is being redefined in the 21st century, and that the skills needed to be a successful artist extend beyond the studio, stage, and performance hall. An innovative mind, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for the arts are all es

sential for success. These principles are not just exclusive to artists, but serve all students well, no matter where their career leads them. The LEAP Institute for the Arts not only provides students the professional resources they need to become more marketable, but will let students and professionals explore other career opportunities in the creative sector, including arts administration, jobs in mainstream entertainment, and opportunities in creative industries and beyond. The curriculum provides leadership and advocacy training that will allow students to be informed of issues in the arts and make a difference in their community. The Institute will launch artists into the community, thereby building an even stronger arts community in Fort Collins, Northern Colo. Hungry for breakfast? or art? or both? On Friday, Oct. 10, CSU Arts Management and the Silver Grill are hosting Art for Breakfast.

This special event will feature a series of portraits of Silver Grill team members created by David Pyle, artist, writer, and faculty member in Arts Management at Colorado State University and ‘roving bands of sketchers’ comprised of CSU students who will be doing drawings of diners and the community. The exhibition honors the people who make the café a cornerstone of the community.

A portion of the proceeds from today’s sales will be generously donated by the Silver Grill to CSU’s BRAINY program.
