We Need More The experience permanently changed their viewpoints on design and the limits of their roles as students. We Need More... from you.

A year ago these students decided to drive from Colorado to Wisconsin to visit the Hamilton Wood Type Museum (the subject of Typeface: The Movie) for a three day letterpress workshop. That shift in their thinking is what planted the seed for this unprecedented plan: the We Need More Summer Tour! The tour leaves in August from Denver to New York City, the home of AIGA - and with stops in participat

ing cities throughout the route - it promises to be the single most profound experience that will shape and influence the careers of these young creatives. It also has the potential to offer something to everyone these students come into contact with along the way: a dialogue of design that will promote relationships and foster interaction and excitement within the larger design community. Spurred on by the idea of a madcap roadtrip, who knows what new connections could be made between students and professionals, between professionals and AIGA chapters, and between chapters across the country? We Need More is an idea that has the potential to blow up into something electric, but it will take the solid efforts of the established pillars of the industry in each city, and their AIGA chapters, to bring it to fruition.

Kyle Durrie outfitted a 1982 van for printing and is traveling the country, giving folks a hands-on appreciation for type and design.

Well, we have returned! It was an amazing journey filled with incredible events, adventures, and people. Thank you to all of you who we met, who helped us plan and pull off events, and who participated by interacting with us online and following our progress. You will see more from this group soon - we have a lot of material to share!
