🌎 Biology at scale: climate, systems, and solutions. From molecules to ecosystems, modern biology is about understanding living systems and using technology, data, and innovation to respond to a changing world. These Spring 2026 courses explore how biological knowledge is applied across climate science, conservation, biotechnology, and learning environments to create real‑world impact.

🔍 Explore the courses:
🧠 BZ 692A.003: The Distracted Student and What to Do About It
Examine attention, curiosity, and learning as interconnected systems. This seminar offers practical, research‑based strategies for supporting engagement in modern, technology‑rich classrooms.

🌱 BZ 492B / 692C: The Bright Side – Successes in Ecology and Climate Change
Focus on solutions, not just problems. This course highlights real‑world examples where ecological research and climate action are making measurable progress.

🧬 BZ 480A8: Biotech for the Industry‑Curious
Explore how biological discoveries move from the lab into industry. This course connects applied biology, innovation, and career pathways while examining why some biotech ideas succeed and others don’t.

🌳 BZ 424 / 520: Principles of Systematic Science & Advanced Systematics
Learn how scientists reconstruct evolutionary relationships using molecular data, phylogenetic trees, and computational tools, and how systematics supports biodiversity research and conservation.

🌍 BZ 320: Biogeographic Approaches to Conservation
Examine how climate, geography, and evolutionary history shape biodiversity. This course uses spatial analysis, ecological modeling, and phylogenetic tools to inform conservation decisions.

🧪 BZ 240: Synthetic Biology
At the intersection of biology, engineering, and computation, this course explores genome editing, engineered organisms, ethics, and how synthetic biology may contribute to sustainability and climate resilience.

📚 Spring 2026. Big systems. Real tools. Future‑focused science.
