In commemoration of the Orange Out this Saturday against SDSU, here's the best Orange-Out in CSU history--also against SDSU--back in 2013.
Your #24 Colorado State Rams, ranked for the first time in 59 years, beat #22 San Diego State in front of a sell-out crowd. A Denver news station reported a 107 decibel level on the Octeus Steal-and-Dunk to seal CSU's victory.
Was this CSU's best basketball team, ever? It was certainly an up year for the MWC with UNLV, SDSU, CSU, and New Mexico consistently ranked in the top 25. Despite the competition, CSU still earned an at-large, #8 seed in the tournament. They beat #9 Missouri in the round of 64 but lost to #1 and eventual National Champion Louisville in the Round of 32.
However, CSU did not win the Mountain West Conference that year. But CSU controls its destiny this year! If CSU wins its remaining games it will win conference title for the first time in school history and a #1 seed to start the MW Tournament for a guaranteed spot in the tournament.
This team could be better than the 2012-13 Rams basketball team. But they need your support!
Everyone needs to show up to their remaining games, especially this weekend against SDSU and the final game against Nevada, who are tied with CSU for first place in the Mountain West. Wear your orange and Go Rams!
