Hey Rams! Meet Moriah Dominguez, a proud mathematics major and an alumni of our Education Preparation program! She currently teaches 6th and 7th graders, and hopes to stay with 7th grade.

Inspired by many people from many directions, from dance teachers, professors, instructors, peers, and her own students, Moriah finds most inspiration from her mom, who homeschooled her in K-12. Using her experience outside of typical school framework, her perspective has become one of her greatest assets.

Moriah also celebrates over 5 years of eating disorder recovery, wanting her experience of overcoming it to help her become a positive force in her students and other people’s lives.

An accomplished dancer, an abroad student who travelled to Poland to attend university, and an amazing mathematics Ram, what can’t she do?

Want to learn more about Moriah? Read her Q+A below!

Q: What do you love most about teaching?
A: I love working with kids. It is so rewarding and there is never a dull moment while teaching and every day is different. I get to problem solve on the daily as well as teach and pass on those problem solving skills. I also learn so much every day, from my mentor teacher and the kids.

Q: How is the Educator Preparation Program at CSU helping you become a better teacher?
Being in the Educator Prep Program at CSU has been such a great experience and has truly prepared me for this semester student teaching. Having been in classrooms since my second year at CSU I have been able to see so many different classrooms and school cultures. I have had hand on experiences teaching lessons, interacting with students, and watching teachers in action.

Q: What has been your favorite CSU experience?
A: I was a part of the CSU harp studio for my entire time as a student. Kathryn Harms has been an incredible mentor and teacher and I truly found a place in the harp studio. Having the opportunity to play and perform and still be invested in the arts while doing math and education as my major made me a better student and allowed me to have a creative outlet outside of my regular coursework.

We’re so proud of you, Moriah! We hope you’re excited for graduation! 💚🐏✨

A: I love seeing how students develop and how they use those skills when they become adults. Recognizing how all students learn differently, figuring out what they love, and integrating it into the lessons is a passion for me. This is why I am excited to teach.

Q: How is the Educator Preparation Program at CSU helping you become a better teacher?
A: The Education Program at CSU has helped me learn from diverse practicum sites and teachers and expand my knowledge, preparing me to become an Elementary Teacher. I’ve had amazing teachers in this program who have supported me every step of the way.

Happy Monday, Rams! Ready to meet a new EP Alumni?

Meet the outstanding Andrea Donlucas, a proud Early Childhood Education Ram and another one of our incredible Education Prep Alumni! She is currently studying for her teaching licensure for early childhood education, as well as an elementary endorsement to teach upper elementary. She currently teaches first grade at Irish Elementary Escuela Bilingüe.

Andrea found inspiration from volunteering experiences from her time at CSU, following through on her love for learning.

Want to learn more about Andrea? Read her Q+A below

Q: What do you love most about teaching?
A: I love so many aspects of it! Seeing the kids get a concept and even be able to explain it better than me is indescribable! I love working with other passionate teachers and getting to try new teaching or behavior management strategies and learning from it all.

Q: How is the Educator Preparation Program at CSU helping you become a better teacher?
A: I have felt so supported throughout my preparation program. My professors and mentors have all been so giving of their time and expertise. We have taken a lot of time to practice literacy and math instruction in previous semesters, giving us lots of tools before I started student teaching this semester. They are also considerate of our identities, passions, and concerns by incorporating them meaningfully into lessons.

Q: What has been your favorite CSU experience?
A: I have enjoyed nearly every moment of my time at CSU! Though, I’ll limit myself to a couple of shout-outs: first, working at Ram Kidz Village. The community there is so welcoming and supportive. Secondly, serving as a Presidential Ambassador has been an amazing way to connect with professionals, including those in fields relevant to education. Lastly, I can’t go without mentioning my practicums and student teaching! There’s nothing quite like it. Jumping in, meeting the students, and finding out ways to support them is the best way to learn.

That’s what we love to see, Andrea! Finish strong, you got this! 💚✨🐏

What’s up, Rams! We hope you’re ready to meet Antonia Davis, one of our incredible Educator Program Alumni and proud Ram! Antonia is currently teaching a second grade classroom, and hope to continue teaching in any elementary level after she graduates.

Inspired by the teachers that fostered her love for learning in elementary school, Antonia wants to be able to be that guiding mentor for students, helping create safe, encouraging environments for kids to learn and be excited about learning.

Want to learn more about Antonia? See her Q+A below 👇

Q: What do you love most about teaching?
A: I love watching the growth in my students and within myself. Being able to grow with them, and know I play a part in their journey means everything to me.

Q: How is the Educator Preparation Program helping you become a better teacher?
A: The Educator Preparation Program at CSU has helped me become a better teacher by giving me consistent, real classroom experience alongside strong academic support. Being in classrooms early and often has allowed me to connect what I’m learning in my courses directly to my teaching practice. The program also emphasizes reflection, relationship-building, and meeting students where they are, which has helped me grow in confidence and intentionality as an educator.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share?
A: As a first-generation college student, being in the Educator Preparation Program at CSU has been especially meaningful to me. Navigating college and preparing for a career in teaching has come with challenges, but it has also made me incredibly proud of how far I’ve come. Alongside student teaching, I also balance dancing for the Colorado Eagles Chicks, and being a part of a sorority, which has taught me discipline, time management, and confidence, skills that carry directly into my classroom. These experiences have shaped who I am as both a student and a future educator, and I’m grateful to be part of a program that supports growth inside and outside the classroom.

Wonderful work, Antonia! We’re so happy to hear you thriving on your journey! 🐏💚✨
