In a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the College of Liberal Arts and the CSU College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, the first class of 20 D.V.M. students graduated in May with a certificate in Spanish for Veterinary Professionals.

Language skills, cultural competency, and veterinary-specific communication training help veterinarians provide better care for animals and better support for their caregivers.

We were honored to kick off commencement weekend by celebrating Jo Carroll (B.A., ’26), recipient of the 2026 Albert C. Yates Student Leadership Award, as they rang the Old Main Bell. 🔔🎓🐏

Kayla grew up in Pueblo, and holds deep ties to the state of Colorado — currently serving as president and CEO of Girls Inc. of Metro Denver. The organization’s mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. She brings more than 15 years of experience across the nonprofit, business, and philanthropic sectors. ⁠

On I Love CSU Day, we celebrated art and community with the installation of the sculpture “That Which Holds Us Together” by CSU alum and Colorado-based artist Pard Morrison (’97). This is the third piece by Pard Morrison that enters the permanent collection for the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art at Colorado State University and his second sculpture on the CSU campus.

This new piece outside the University Center for the Arts is a beacon, calling attention to the variety of visual and performing art within the UCA and throughout the CSU campus.

It is part of a simple and powerful idea: Art lives here at CSU.

Dr. Barbier is a leader in the field of environmental economics, and his contributions to scholarship and public discourse on global environmental and sustainability issues have been influential around the world.

Six CSU research projects designed to contribute to rural communities have received seed funding with the aim of enhancing interdisciplinary research and community engagement in Colorado.

Funding comes from the colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Liberal Arts and Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, along with the Office of the Vice President for Research.
