Meet CSU Construction Management Ram, Christian Nazario, who is building his future this summer with JE Dunn Construction 🏗️🤝

Following in the footsteps of his dad, a CSU Construction Management alum, Christian chose CSU for its strong industry connections, hands-on learning opportunities, and nationally recognized program. Now, he’s putting that education into practice as a Project Engineer Intern on the CSU Veterinary Health and Education Complex project.

From processing submittals and RFIs to coordinating punch walks, tracking change orders, and managing closeout documentation, Christian is gaining firsthand experience in what it takes to deliver a major construction project.

Q: How are you applying what you’ve learned from your studies to this summer experience?
A: My coursework has given me a strong foundation in project management, scheduling, estimating, and construction operations. Throughout my internship, I’ve been able to apply those concepts in a real-world setting while also improving my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills through daily interactions with project teams, owners, and trade partners.

Q: What is your favorite part about your summer experience?
A: My favorite part has been seeing how many different people and specialties come together to complete a project. It’s rewarding to contribute to a facility that will support education, research, and veterinary care for years to come while learning from experienced professionals in the industry.

Q: What communities or groups of people do you hope to impact in your eventual career and life?
A: I hope to positively impact students, local communities, and future generations by helping deliver projects that create opportunities for learning, healthcare, research, and community growth. I also hope to mentor students who are interested in construction and help them pursue successful careers in the industry.

The CSU Department of Construction Management hosted its 2026 Construction Management Summer Institute in June, hosting 26 high school students from all over – Texas to Colorado and DC to California! During their five-day four-night stay on campus, they engaged with professionals representing construction-related industries to learn about construction management and related careers and had loads of fun exploring construction-related topics, tools, materials, and activities!

A dedicated, hardworking problem solver, outstanding CM Ram Grad Morgan Day embodies the Ram Built way 🎓🐏🏗️

On her way to graduation, Morgan completed three internships, was a CM ambassador, received the JHL Scholarship, and built countless connections! Now she’s Bozeman, Montana-bound to begin her career as a Project Engineer with Jackson Contractor Group.

🎓 Meet outstanding grad Sydney Andrus 💛💚

A Construction Management Ram from Colorado Springs, Sydney spent her time at CSU building more than projects. She built community. She arrived interested in Civil Engineering but quickly found her place in Construction Management, drawn to the hands on experience and real world learning.

As a member, and this past year president, of the Women in Construction Club, Sydney stayed deeply involved.
“It was such a beneficial experience with networking opportunities, site tours, crafting, volunteering, volleyball tournaments, and building relationships with my peers.”

Now, Sydney is heading into her next chapter as a Project Engineer with Saunders Construction. She credits the CM program with preparing her for the role and setting her up for success.

Congrats, Sydney. We cannot wait to see how you help build a better world 🏗️✨

Shout out to CM Ram, Kathleen Henneuse, who’s helping to bring the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Lab to life ⚡️

After presenting her research poster on the immersive classroom display at the Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Showcase, Kathleen and our industry partners at Aldridge Electric made it a reality.

By using real-time regional power data, physical electrical components, and a high-voltage Jacob’s Ladder demonstration, the exhibit showcases the path electricity takes from power plants to commercial and residential systems. Way to go, Kathleen, and thank you to the great folks at Aldridge!
