Please consider on attending this much needed conversation on defending land and water.

I am not Yavapai, I am Ojibwe, however it is the FMD community that has raised all my siblings and myself.

I made the commitment when I enrolled in college that I would fight for the land that raised me. Oak Flat has been a site I have been involved with for 6 years. The Apache Stronghold have been fighting it for over 15 years.

Wendsler Nosie Sr. who is enrolled in San Carlos is also Yavapai from his moms side. He fights this land in honor of her and the people she comes from but also due to the significance and sacredness it has for the Apache people.

This land was protected prior to the land exchange bill that John McCain slipped in at 11:59 PM the day before Obama was to sign off on the Land Defense Bill in December 2012. This should have never happened after several failed attempts to do the land exchange in a more humane manner.
