💧💙 Serving Our Community, Investing in Our Future! 💙💧
We are honored to support Colonial Elementary School and its students with a donation of water for their school community.
At the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy, we believe that serving our community means more than preparing the next generation of public safety professionals. It means showing up, giving back, and investing in the young people who represent the future of our community.
We are grateful for the opportunity to support our local schools and to be a small part of helping students stay healthy, hydrated, and ready to learn. 🌟
Together, we can make a difference—one act of service at a time. 💙

Huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy! 💧💙

Their generous water donation to Colonial Elementary School means the world to our students, teachers, and staff. We are so grateful to have such incredible community partners looking out for our school family and keeping our kids hydrated, healthy, and ready to learn.

Thank you for your service—both in protecting our community and supporting our schools!

🌞 BEAT THE HEAT, FLORIDA! 💧
Florida’s heat and humidity can create dangerous conditions, especially during prolonged outdoor activity, training, or physical work. The heat index tells us how hot it feels when temperature and humidity are combined—and conditions can become hazardous quickly.
At Southwest Florida Public Service Academy, we encourage everyone to stay informed, stay hydrated, and stay prepared.
💧 Hydrate Before You Need It
• Drink water consistently throughout the day.
• Carry a refillable water bottle.
• Don’t wait until you feel thirsty to hydrate.
• Limit beverages that can contribute to dehydration.
☀️ Protect Yourself From the Heat
• Take breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.
• Schedule strenuous outdoor activities during cooler portions of the day when possible.
• Wear lightweight, light-colored, breathable clothing.
• Use sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses for additional protection.
• Check on coworkers, students, family members, and neighbors—especially those spending extended time outdoors.
⚠️ Know the Warning Signs
Heat exhaustion may include heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea, and cool or clammy skin.
Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Signs may include very high body temperature, confusion, altered behavior, loss of consciousness, or hot skin. Call 911 immediately and begin appropriate cooling measures while waiting for emergency assistance.
🚑 Your health and safety come first. Whether you are working, training, exercising, or enjoying Florida’s outdoors, take the heat seriously and make hydration and heat safety part of your daily routine.

🚌 STOP FOR THE BUS: IT’S THE LAW & IT SAVES LIVES 🛑

As school starts back up, our roads are filled with school buses carrying our community's most precious cargo. Let’s work together to keep every child safe!

Here is a quick refresher on Florida bus safety laws:

🛑 Two-Lane Roads: Traffic moving in BOTH directions MUST stop.
🛑 Multi-Lane Roads (Paved Median): Traffic moving in BOTH directions MUST stop.
🟡 Divided Highways (Unpaved Median, Raised Barrier, or Grass Strip at least 5 ft wide): Traffic behind the bus MUST stop. Oncoming traffic may proceed with caution.

Remember:

Yellow flashing lights mean the bus is preparing to stop. Slow down!

Red flashing lights and extended stop arms mean STOP.

Never pass a stopped school bus until the red lights are off and the stop arm is retracted.

Violating school bus stop laws comes with heavy fines, points on your license, and—most importantly—puts young lives at risk.

Slow down, put the phones away, and stay alert in school zones and neighborhood bus stops. Let’s have a safe school year, SWFL! 🚸❤️

There is no higher honor than seeing the next generation step up to serve—especially when it’s family. 🚑❤️

We had an extraordinarily special moment at our recent EMT graduation ceremony as our very own Coordinator, Jeff Ziomek, had the privilege of presenting his son with his diploma. Watching a dedication to public service and life-saving care pass from father to son embodies everything our Academy stands for: family, excellence, and unwavering commitment to the community.

Congratulations to our new EMT, and a huge congratulations to the entire Ziomek family on this milestone achievement!
