Class of 2024 – In Their Own Words
Prestley Irvan, BS in Elementary Education
During my time at FSW, I've learned what it means to not just attend college but to connect with the courses, professors, and the overall experience that can be felt the first day you step on campus. FSW was a perfect fit academically for me. It feels like a close-knit community where students are truly allowed to succeed and grow.
FSW has impacted me by becoming not just a college I attended in preparation to enroll elsewhere, but a college I felt was perfect in allowing me to make a permanent home for my baccalaureate degree completion. FSW has remained focused on providing me with an excellent educational experience, and for that, I could not be more thankful. FSW has also provided amazing extracurricular opportunities. I am proud to be a member of such as Kappa Delta Epsilon and the Tri-Alpha First Gen Honor Society.
At the beginning of my college career, I wanted to pursue a different major than what I am graduating from currently. However, the more I completed courses for this major, the more unsure I was about what it was I wanted to pursue. I felt as if I wasn't confident in the direction I was actively going. My advisor at FSW worked diligently to help me find a program I would be passionate about and one that I would be successful in as well.
Once being accepted into my bachelor's program, I met the most wonderful group of professors who helped me become successful and achieve many of my goals at FSW. The professors in my program have remained consistent in communication and supportive of every student in my cohort, and it has made me proud to say that I am looking forward to seeing other students begin their journey at FSW.
To my fellow graduates, I am so thankful for the friendships and connections I have made with you throughout my time here at FSW, and I wish you the best in every way possible! I would like to thank my family, friends, professors, and FSW for being supportive of my academic career and journey since I first began until now.
