NSCS is proud to announce the launch of the Emergency Scholar Assistance Program, specifically designed for NSCS members who may be experiencing financial, academic and/or housing hardships during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible members will qualify for a limited pool of funds equivalent to a one time maximum of $125 per person in the form of a digital gift card. While it is far from our largest scholarship, we hope to help many of you offset any unexpected expenses incurred as a result of this pandemic.

The application process takes less than 5 minutes and is due no later than midnight this Wednesday, March 17, 2020 (so that we can review and identify recipients ASAP). Apply now.

What are some application tips?

-Start Early
A great scholarship essay is not written overnight! Start early and allow time to work on your responses.
-Proofread, Proofread, Proofread
You want your scholarship essay to stand out for its great content, not its grammatical errors. Ask a parent, friend, or professor to proofread your application before submitting.
-Personalize the Response
Don’t make your essay a resume. Use the opportunity to share something about who you are, which is far more memorable.
-Build on your Accomplishments
Remember that you are competing against a similar pool of applicants. Use the essay question as a way to prove to the scholarship committee that you are the worthiest applicant for the award.

The Induction Ceremony will be Monday, October 7th from 7pm to 9pm in Edwards Hall 112. You will all be inducted during this honorary ceremony. Please dress professionally. If you have not done so please RSVP here https://mynscs.secure.force.com/dc/reg/2019FGCU. Please RSVP before September 30th.
