Another TCU English collaboration with SMU! Dr. Charlotte Hogg, Professor of English, joined fellow regional rhetoric and writing faculty for the Writing Program Directors’ Panel at the second annual Sterling R.E. Havens Writing Symposium.

This year’s symposium, themed “Reading in the Digital Age,” brought together leading scholars to explore how digital literacy, modern language technologies, and artificial intelligence affect higher education. Dr. Hogg’s dedication to developing innovative pedagogical methods in composition keeps moving the field forward, and it’s great to see AddRan faculty leading these vital conversations across the Metroplex and beyond. Thank you, SMU English, for hosting this important conversation!

TCU English was proud to be represented at SMU last week. Brandon J. Manning, Associate Professor of English, joined Lisa Guerrero (Washington State U.) and Christopher A. Shinn (Howard U.) for “African American Satire & Academic Futures,” a panel hosted by SMU English on the role of satire and humor in Black literature and culture.

Dr. Manning’s scholarship on satire and Black cultural expression keeps moving the field forward, and it’s great to see AddRan faculty leading these conversations across the Metroplex and beyond. Thank you, SMU English, for bringing these voices together! 💜
