In 1946 the Camerata Club was founded at TCU in hopes of one day converting the club into a chapter of Phi Mu Alpha. During their existence, The Camerata Club hosted numerous recitals and created the fraternal feeling environment that still exists today. In the spring of 1948 the 24 members of the Camerata Club created a petition to the supreme council of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and on May 21, 1948
the Delta Mu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha at Texas Christian University was chartered. In addition to successfully receiving its charter this day, the Delta Mu Chapter honorably initiated Chancellor
M. Sadler as a Honorary Brother for his considerable support of the arts, specifically music. Since being chartered over 60 years ago, the Delta Mu chapter has kept up with the ideals that the gentlemen of the Camerata Club set forth. We continue to meet the challenges of uniting all men of music at TCU with our song, play and as of late step and stroll. The Delta Mu Chapter hosts recitals and goes out into the community and spreads the effect of music to numerous people. Sinfonians are present in all departments of the TCU School of Music and at TCU as a whole, and their ideals and principles strengthen the areas that they are in. Though we have a strong presence in the school of music we are also strong in men of other schools on campus, proving that not all men must be a part of the musical groups. Be it performances or day to day activity, our noble object can be seen in all brothers throughout the campus.
