TCU Department of Social Work If a career in a helping or social justice profession appeals to you, consider a major in Social Work — one of the human service professions. Social worker

The department offers both Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs. The curriculum for each includes content in social welfare policy and services, human behavior and the social environment, social work practice, research and field education. The programs focus on values and ethics, populations at risk, and diversity. Concurrent with their academic work, students are

provided service-learning opportunities in several classes. Students at both the BSW and MSW level complete internship placements in a public or private social agency selected in accordance with the student’s area of social work interest and educational needs.

We are ever so grateful to Dr. Kimzey and Mr. McLarty for sharing their expertise on dementia with our BSW and MSW students. Dr. Kimzey, a nursing faculty member, and Mr. McLarty, who lives with dementia, lead dementia curriculum across our classes—providing students with meaningful, engaging learning experiences.
