🎉 Welcome to the 2026 Kentucky State University Cooperative Extension Summer Student Internship Program! 🎉
We are excited to welcome a talented cohort of students who will spend the summer gaining hands-on experience while supporting Extension programming across the Commonwealth.

Through this immersive internship, students will work alongside Extension professionals in a variety of disciplines, contributing to on-farm demonstrations, educational workshops, program evaluation activities, and the development of Extension publications and resources. These experiences will provide valuable insight into the role of Cooperative Extension in strengthening Kentucky communities through research-based education and outreach.

This summer, we will host approximately 10 student interns, helping to cultivate the next generation of leaders, educators, and agricultural professionals.

Please join us in welcoming our first group of interns and wishing them a successful and rewarding summer with Kentucky State University Cooperative Extension!

Kentucky State University is helping inspire and train the next generation of future veterinarians through hands-on learning!

KSU hosted 21 junior high and high school students for a hands-on 4-H Veterinary Science & Skills Workshop!

Students practiced real-world skills like triage, injections, suturing, and disease identification using life-like models. Guest speaker H. Barlow shared insights on dairy cow health and calf management.

Big thanks to Dr. Abbigail Hines and Elizabeth Workman for leading this engaging, career-focused experience!

Kristi Shive, Area Agent for 4-H Youth Development, had a wonderful time bringing the Passport in the Classroom Program to the entire 4th grade at McNeill Elementary in Bowling Green, Kentucky! 🌎✈️ Students explored different countries, cultures, and traditions while “traveling” the world through hands-on learning. Thank you, McNeill Elementary, for welcoming 4-H into your classrooms!

Megan Treadway, Area Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences and Kristi Shive, Area Agent for 4-H Youth Development taught Kitchen Safety at Lincoln Elementary in Franklin, Kentucky for Safety Day!

We went over basic kitchen safety. The kids enjoyed this fun lesson!
