Happy 118th Founders’ Day, Sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®!

On this special day, January 15, 1908, nine phenomenal women at Howard University lit a spark that grew into a vibrant, global sisterhood.

From Miner Hall to the world, we now stand over 360,000 strong across several nations including, the U.S., Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, UAE, Germany, Japan, Liberia, Nigeria, South Korea, South Africa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, United Kingdom, and Puerto Rico united in purpose, service, and sisterly love.

As we continue to Soar to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood under the 2022–2026 Administration, we honor the extraordinary legacy of our Founders and celebrate the generations of women who carry their vision forward.

Here’s to 118 years of impact, elegance, leadership, and love. And here’s to soaring even higher—together! 🩷💚

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has the power to galvanize our organization of more than 120,000 active members, create a ripple effect, and make a significant impact on our environment. This year, our chapter planted trees in the SouthView Cemetery located in Franklin, VA and made our contribution toward enhancing our environment.

We’re embracing our motto of “Service to All Mankind,” by giving back to our communities with purpose and passion.

Today, we remember that each act of service, big or small, creates a ripple of change. Let’s keep Dr. King’s dream alive through our collective efforts, because “We Are One” in making a difference!

Happy 117th Founders’ Day, Sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®!

On this day, January 15th, 1908, nine visionary women at Howard University sparked a sisterhood that has grown into a global force for good.

From that first meeting in Miner Hall to today, we proudly stand as a sisterhood of over 360,000 members across 12 nations, including the U.S., Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, UAE, Germany, Japan, Liberia, Nigeria, South Korea, South Africa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

As we celebrate under the 2022-2026 Administration, and the theme ‘Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood,’ we honor the enduring legacy of our Founders, and continue to impact communities globally.
