Smittcamp Family Honors College The Smittcamp Family Honors College is an honors program on Fresno State's campus. President’s Scholars are recognized as the university’s leading learners.

The Smittcamp Family Honors College offers a substantially different learning environment than most honors programs. They study together in very small groups and receive personalized attention from faculty and administration. Our goal is to develop today’s honors students into tomorrow’s leaders. The Smittcamp Family Honors College is home to a small group of exceptional students at Fresno State.

President’s Scholars are a highly motivated group of learners who are dedicated to achievement in the classroom and the community. Statistics are available on all entering President’s Scholars from 1999 to present. Most President's Scholars come from California, with a few joining us from other states and even from outside the continental United States. Their cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds vary widely. A diverse group, they not only achieve knowledge through our program, but through one another as well.

⭐️Introducing the ⭐️

Eva Yang is a graduate of Clovis East High School in Clovis, CA, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class and earned recognition as a CSF Lifetime Member with Honors.

Dedicated to leadership and service, Eva served as Squadron Commander of Clovis East Air Force Junior ROTC, secretary of National Honors Society, and an active member of FFA. During her time in FFA, Eva worked closely with special education students, providing guidance and support through partnered learning experiences. Alongside her mentees, she participated in several Fresno Fair projects, earning 1st Place in the Color Bowl Arrangement competition and 3rd Place in the Scarecrow Contest.

Inspired by her father, Eva aspires to become a doctor. In her free time, she enjoys puzzles, word games, shopping, and nature walks. This fall, Eva will attend Fresno State majoring in Public Health. She’s excited to join the SFHC family!

Ava Garay is a graduate of Granite Hills High School in Porterville, CA. She is majoring in Psychology and hopes to someday return to her hometown and be a school psychologist, since she was a student tutor at her school and loved working with children. On top of playing both varsity swimming and water polo, Ava was heavily involved in clubs and organizations. She was the president of CSF and held a seat on the student council for several years.

Ava is interested in swimming, crocheting, and loves to meet new people—and we are excited to welcome her to Fresno State!

Alex Rosa is an incoming freshman from Firebaugh High School in Firebaugh, CA. Throughout high school, Alex competed in football and wrestling in addition to serving as the school’s Vice President of Math Club. He also coached young athletes for the local wrestling club. Alex enjoys watching sports and hanging out with friends. He is majoring in Biology and hopes to pursue a career in the medical field.

Krishnapriya Kishor is a Sunnyside High School graduate from Fresno, CA. At Sunnyside, she participated in many clubs and programs including, but not limited to, being the President of United Sounds, Vice President of Science Olympiads, and an AP Ambassador.

She also completed four years of Doctor’s Academy, which inspired her to major in Environmental Occupational Health and Safety and minor in Physical Science. Later, she plans to attend medical school to pursue a career as a doctor in the Central Valley. Outside of school, Krishnapriya enjoys martial arts, reading, volunteering at local animal shelters, and shadowing doctors.

Brooklyn Medeiros is a graduate of Fowler High School in Fowler, CA. In high school, she competed on Fowler High’s varsity tennis, basketball, and softball teams. Brooklyn was also involved in student council, leadership, yearbook, and FCA. Outside of school, she enjoys playing and watching sports, working out, and hanging out with friends and family.

At Fresno State, she plans to major in Sports Administration and pursue a career in the sports management field. Inspired by her parents and grandparents, Brooklyn has always wanted to attend Fresno State, and she is so excited to follow in her family’s footsteps and be a Bulldog!

Lola Miranda is a graduate of Edison High School in Fresno, CA. She plans to major in Political Science with the goal of becoming a constitutional lawyer.

A lifelong soccer player, Lola has spent years both competing and coaching the sport, while also participating as a four-sport varsity athlete in high school. Outside of athletics, she enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and exploring a wide range of interests, from running shoe design to religious studies research. As a B’nai B’rith nominee, she values leadership and community involvement, having served communities both in Fresno and abroad.

Alyssa Blackmon is an incoming freshman from El Diamante High School in Visalia, CA. Throughout high school, Alyssa was involved in Key Club and CSF. She spent her time outside of school volunteering at the pediatrics ward of Kaweah Delta Hospital. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys painting, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

Gannon Gonzalez is a graduate of Hanford High School, located in Hanford, CA. Gannon is a self-taught computer builder seeking to major in Computer Science and earn a certificate in Cybersecurity. With this degree, Gannon plans to further his growing interest in technology and work as a cybersecurity manager.

Outside of the classroom, Gannon enjoys refereeing for soccer on the weekends and devoting his time to growing his sneaker reselling business. He also spends his free time at the golf course or going out with friends.

Elyse Mar is an incoming freshman from Clovis High School in Clovis, CA. She is majoring in Biochemistry and plans to attend medical school to pursue a career as a physician.
In high school, Elyse was involved in NHS, CSF, and clubs such as The Future of Medicine and Key Club. She also has experience volunteering with both Community Regional Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente. Elyse enjoys contributing to the community through volunteer work in addition to hobbies like watching movies, baking, and spending time with her friends.
