Inclusion in the workforce isn't a trend, it’s a movement decades in the making. 🤝✨
As we dive into National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re honoring this year’s theme, "Celebrating Value and Talent," by reflecting on where it all started: Back in 1945, the U.S. designated a single week to highlight disabled workers.
By 1988, Congress expanded that week into the month-long national observance we celebrate today.
Decades later, programs like Wayfinders at Fresno State are turning that historic movement into daily action. Through semester-long campus internships and community job sites, our students build real career independence while showing local employers the immense value of inclusive hiring. 💼🐾
