As a child, Leslie Herrera helped her parents navigate doctor appointments by translating complex medical terms into Spanish. Years later, that same passion for helping others has led her to earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Fresno State. 🎓 🐾

Now, she’s preparing to give back to the Spanish-speaking community in Fresno as a practicing physical therapist.

"Being a Fresno State Bulldog was such a rewarding experience that has shaped my growth academically and personally in ways I will always cherish. As a first-generation student, this campus provided a supportive community that has played a critical role in my journey. The guidance, mentorship, and strong sense of belonging helped cultivate my sense of purpose. I will forever carry that Bulldog spirit with me as I continue my education at CSU, Monterey Bay, to pursue my Master's in Social Work. Go 'Dogs!"
