Sydney Stinnett ‘24 is a Year 2 Physical Education teacher with Baltimore City Public Schools. She is passionate about teaching Physical Education because she loves creating a fun, active, and positive environment where students can build confidence, learn teamwork, and develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Everyday Ms. Stinnett enjoys encouraging students to try their best, stay active, and believe in themselves both inside and outside of the gym. Ms. Stinnett says: “Seeing my students grow, smile, and become excited about movement and fitness is one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher.”

Becky (Frey) Kidd’06 has spent the past 20 years shaping young minds as a 4th grade teacher in Frederick County Public Schools. Known for creating classrooms centered on literacy, creativity, and kindness, she inspires students through innovative learning experiences like “Book A Day” read-alouds and author Skype visits. Mike O’Brien ’00 is wrapping up his 26th year as a teacher and coach, earning national, regional, and state honors in 2025, including National Unified Sports Coach of the Year and Maryland State Coach of the Year. He also received SHAPE Maryland Teacher of the Year and was named a Teacher of the Year semifinalist.

At Tuscarora High School, he serves as department chair for health and physical education, advises the Best Buddies club, started unified PE and sports programs, and has supported athletics for over 15 years as assistant athletic director.
