INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF INNOVATORS--Twenty-five middle school students from across Allegany County spent three days on campus for Frostburg State University's F2T2 Camp, exploring STEAM through hands-on activities like flying drones, dissecting fish, building robots, and creating art projects. Now in its eighth year, the camp helps students discover new interests, explore career pathways, and experience college life at FSU. Best of all? Every camper said they could see themselves as future Bobcats!

CLC NAMING – The Frostburg State University campus gathered today for the renaming of the Children’s Literature Centre to the Nowaczyk Family Children’s Literature Centre in honor of the family of FSU’s late president, Dr. Ronald Nowaczyk. Dr. Nowaczyk’s wife, Maureen Lavan, and son, Jake, shared remarks of gratitude, along with speakers FSU Interim President Darlene Brannigan Smith, PhD; Dean of the College of Education, Behavioral and Health Professions, Dr. Boyce C. Williams; CLC Centre Director, Dr. Sarah O’Neal; and CLC Co-Founders, Dr. Thomas Palardy and Dr. Bill Bingman. Nearly 100 members of the campus and community, as well as friends of the Nowaczyk family, were in attendance.

FELLOWSHIP--Eighteen Frostburg State University students recently attended the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Mid-Atlantic College Camp in North East, Md., joining students from 75 colleges and universities across the region.

Throughout the Memorial Day weekend, students participated in keynote sessions, small-group discussions and leadership-focused workshops covering topics such as financial stewardship, mental and emotional health, evangelism, healthy relationships and leadership development.

FSU ranked third in the Mid-Atlantic region for student attendance at the camp. Participants also enjoyed time together at the waterfront venue and returned inspired to continue building community and making a positive impact on campus.

THE JOY OF READING – Frostburg State University Interim President Darlene Brannigan Smith, PhD, recently personally donated children’s books from this year’s FSU Spring Festival of Children’s Literature to the students of Lacy Dickel '06/M'26, an FSU graduate and teacher at West Side Elementary in Cumberland. These “chapter books” are geared to help students become advanced readers. Ms. Dickel has created an in-class library to reinforce the joy of reading in her students.

CAMPUS TOURS – The Allegany County Transit partnered with Frostburg State University in providing free shuttle service around campus for tours during our Bobcat Bound Days. Thanks to Allegany County and all the drivers who made our incoming, first-year students and their families feel safe and welcomed.
