Frostburg State University unveiled the Captain James A. Graham Veterans Center at an honorific naming ceremony and reception in May. Acting Secretary Ross Cohen of the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families was a special guest at the ceremony along with three officers from the United States Marine Corp - Lt. Col. George Simpson '73, Capt. Jim Richardson '66 and Sgt. John Bambacus '70.

Today, on National Purple Heart Day, we recognize and remember the brave U.S. service members who were wounded or killed in action while serving our nation. The Purple Heart is awarded to those who have shown extraordinary courage and sacrifice in the face of danger.
