CSUF VRC Spring 2026 Semester recap!
As we close out another incredible semester, we want to take a moment to reflect on the memories, milestones, and community we built together at the CSUF VRC!

This semester was filled with meaningful connections, shared experiences, and countless moments that reminded us of the strength of our military-connected community. From welcoming new students and supporting one another through academic challenges, to celebrating achievements and creating lasting friendships, our student veterans and military connected students continued to embody resilience, leadership, and service.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated student staff, whose hard work, commitment, and passion helped make the a welcoming home away from home. Together, we fostered a culture or camaraderie, support, and belonging that extends far beyond the classroom.

As you browse through our semester book, we hope they remind you of the friendships formed, the laughs shared, and the impact our community has on one another.

Thank you for being part of the VRC Family! We are proud of everything you have accomplished this semester and look forward to what the future holds.

We can’t wait to continue the legacy next semester!

The next female veteran we are highlighting is Antoinette Ferrer who is one of the many talented VA Work study staff at our VRC.

“My name is Antoinette Ferrer, and I am a third year Kinesiology Major. I have been in the Army ROTC program for 3 years now, starting from August 2023. Once I graduate I will become an Army Officer to hopefully stay in for as long as I can. My favorite hobby would have to be finding new places to eat, whether it be with my friends, family, or my boyfriend! Some fun facts about me are that I can speak in 3 languages fluently, and that I am originally born in Japan.”

On March 27th, the CSUF Veterans Resource Center had the honor of hosting our 14th Annual Women Veterans in Higher Education Conference at and what an incredible day it was 💜

We are truly grateful to every woman veteran, student, speaker, partner, and supporter that showed up, shared their stories, and helped create a space filled with strength, resilience, and community. Your presence reminded us why this work matters so much.

A special thank you to the women veteran students on our own staff and the professional staff who put in long hours behind the scenes to make this event possible. Your leadership, dedication, and heart were the driving force that brought this conference to life.

Advocacy for women veterans in higher education is not optional- it is necessary. Holding spaces where women veterans feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered is something we will continue to prioritize.

Because when women veterans are supported, they don’t just succeed they lead!

Thank you all for being part of this meaningful day. We are already looking forward to next year.

Erica enlisted in the United States Navy on July 11, 2016, and is currently still serving.

“After beginning my military career, I enrolled at California State University, Fullerton, where I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services. My academic focus is centered on supporting individuals and communities, and I hope to continue my education by pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) in the future.”

“ A fun fact about me is that through both my military service and personal travel, I have been fortunate enough to visit 10 different countries, which has allowed me to experience new cultures, perspectives, and places around the world.”

Honoring Women’s History Month by highlighting one of our incredible women veterans here at 🇺🇸✨

Meet a Marine who brought her dedication and leadership from service to campus.

“I enlisted as an 0111 into the United States Marine Corps from January 2019 - January 2023. After that, I enrolled into CSUF and am majoring in Business Administration (no declared concentration yet). A fun fact about me is that I was used in a variety of different USMC advertisements such as calendars, pamphlets, Snapchat, and the 250th Marine Corps Anniversary Monopoly Board.”

In celebration of Women’s History Month 💜✨

The Veterans Resource Center Women for Women Program is proud to honor the strength, resilience, and achievements of women—especially those connected to the military community. This month, we recognize the diverse experiences of active duty service members, veterans, spouses, partners, reservists, and family members who each contribute uniquely to our shared story 🌸. Women’s History Month is not only a time to reflect on the trailblazers who paved the way, but also to celebrate the leadership, ambition, creativity, and determination within our own community today 👩‍🎓🌟. Together, we continue building a supportive and empowering space where every woman’s voice, journey, and individuality are valued and uplifted 🤝💪.
