Thomas Hatch ’91, MPA ’95 was recently appointed interim city manager after the Riverside City Council unanimously approved the move in July. A retired city executive, Hatch previously served as Costa Mesa’s city manager for seven years and has held interim city manager roles in Orange, Santa Fe Springs, Santa Ana, and Placentia.

Sean Joyce ’86, MPA ’93 was appointed by the Irvine City Council to serve as city manager, effective Aug. 10. Joyce brings 35+ years of municipal leadership experience and previously served as Irvine’s city manager from 2005–2018. Since 2018, he has worked as interim city manager for several Southern California cities, including Cypress, South Pasadena, Huntington Beach, San Clemente, and Laguna Beach.
