“Various Oil paintings and drawings with collage elements. A lot of the work is mixed media collage onto oil paintings. Much of the work aims to explore sense of self, personal history, and memory. Through the exploration of family photographs I work to examine what makes up an individual, how that ties into their interests and sense of self. For the 100 drawing installation it was a self portrait through personal collection, how objects that are loved define the person who cherishes them. For the painting with the older woman and child where both of their faces are obscured the piece touched on memory and nostalgia. What happens when someone you love is gone and you can no longer access them on this physical plane, having dealt with a loved one passing from dementia I wanted to explore what memory was. How memory shapes emotion and how settings do as well. ”

The Tuesday Matinée Series features performances by CSUF School of Music students in solo and chamber settings. Held on select Tuesdays at 1:00 PM in the Recital Hall at the Clayes Performing Arts Center, the concerts showcase a wide range of repertoire from classical and jazz to contemporary works, including music by CSUF student composers.

Quarteto Nuevo opens the 2026–27 CSUF New Music Series!

Join us on October 17 for an evening featuring Quarteto Nuevo, whose distinctive sound brings together contemporary classical music, jazz, Latin American influences, and global musical traditions.
The first half of the concert brings Quarteto Nuevo together with the CSUF New Music Ensemble for works by Pamela Madsen, Damon Zick, Frank Zappa, and Kenton Youngstrom.
In the second half, Quarteto Nuevo takes the stage with their own compositions—including music from their Jazz Road Suite—alongside works by Bill Cunliffe, Gyan Riley, and Milcho Leviev.

✨ We’re excited to welcome Quarteto Nuevo to CSUF and kick off a new season of the CSUF New Music Series!

We are excited to announce that the Theatre and Dance Department will begin offering a BFA in Design and Technical Production in the spring of 2027. You can find the application, including all portfolio requirements, on the Theatre and Dance Department Auditions Canvas, along with answers to frequently asked questions about the program.

Current students who wish to apply for Spring admission must submit their applications by October 15th, 2026. Current students who wish to apply for Fall 2027 admission will apply at the same time as prospective CSUF students, with applications due December 1st, 2026.

Applicants with successful applications will be invited to interview and present their portfolio to a faculty panel, which will then make an admissions recommendation. In-person interviews are preferred, though virtual interviews may also be arranged.

Interviews for Spring 2027 admission will take place on November 6th. Interviews for Fall 2027 admission will take place on January 30 & 31, 2027 and February 6 & 7 2027.
